Origin and meaning of Adrian
Adrian comes from the Latin Hadrianus, “from Hadria”, the Adriatic town that also gave the emperor Hadrian his name. In Romania it was one of the most given boys' names between the 1970s and the 1990s and remains extremely common among adults, with the pet form Adi. The name day is 26 August, the feast of the martyrs Adrian and Natalia, a couple much venerated in the Orthodox tradition.
