Origin and meaning of Willow
Willow comes from the Old English welig and names the willow, the supple, slender tree that tradition links to grace, adaptability and resilience. A natural, poetic name, it has caught on recently in the English-speaking world, helped along by popular culture, and today ranks among the rising girls' names in the United States and the United Kingdom. Beyond English-speaking countries it stays rare, but keeps a sweet, serene and faintly fairy-tale charm.
