Origin and meaning of Serena
Serena comes from the Latin serenus, 'clear, calm, tranquil' — originally the stillness of the sky after a storm, later a serene, luminous temperament. Borne by several early Christian saints, it is most common in Italy and Romance-speaking countries, loved for its transparent meaning and soft, reassuring sound.
