Origin and meaning of Rosangela
Rosangela is a thoroughly Italian compound name, formed by joining Rosa, from Latin rosa, 'rose,' and Angela, from Greek angelos, 'angel, messenger' — readable as 'angel of rose' or 'angelic rose.' It thus fuses the flower with the heavenly, in a weave of sweetness and spirituality. Common in Italy chiefly in the mid-twentieth century, it is much loved in Brazil too as Rosângela. A little dated now, it keeps a warm, luminous tone typical of compound Marian names.
