Origin and meaning of Muchen
Muchen (沐宸) is a textbook example of a modern two-character Chinese name: mù 沐 means 'to bathe, to be enveloped' (as in light or grace), while chén 宸 historically denoted the 'imperial residence' and is now used as a wish for nobility and prestige. Together they suggest a child 'enveloped in a noble destiny.' It has been one of the most common boys' names in China in recent years. With homophonic characters, chen can also mean 'morning' (晨) or 'auspicious time' (辰).
