Origin and meaning of Ivano
Ivano is the Italianised form of Ivan, the Slavic version of John, from the Hebrew Yohanan, 'God is gracious, gift of God'. It thus joins the biblical root to a soft, Slavic sound. In Italy it is a men's name found chiefly in the North and central regions, typical of the 20th century; outside Italy it is rare, while the original Ivan is very common throughout the Slavic world.
