Origin and meaning of Fausta
Fausta comes from the Latin adjective faustus, 'fortunate, auspicious, favourable', from the same root as favēre, 'to favour'. It was a name of good omen in ancient Rome, given in the hope of a happy, prosperous life. The feminine of Fausto, it is now fairly rare and classical in flavour, found mainly in Italy and Spain, where it keeps its lucky, serene meaning.
