Origin and meaning of Ercole
Ercole is the Italian form of the Latin Hercules, from the Greek Heraklḗs (Ἡρακλῆς), 'glory of Hera': in myth he is the demigod of superhuman strength, hero of the famous twelve labours. The name evokes vigour, courage and endurance. In Italy it is an old, rare boys' name, little used today but epic in flavour; it appears mainly in learned tradition and in some Renaissance noble families.
