Origin and meaning of Bartosz
Bartosz is the Polish form of Bartholomew, from the Aramaic bar-Talmai, «son of Talmai», the name of one of the twelve apostles. In Poland it has been a steadily popular choice for newborn boys, valued for sounding strong yet less formal than Bartłomiej, of which it is the shorter, everyday variant. The diminutive Bartek is affectionate and widely used among friends and family.
