Origine et signification de Levi

Levi comes from the Hebrew Lewi, 'joined, attached' — in the Bible, Leah chose it hoping her husband would bond with her. It is the name of Jacob's third son and forefather of the priestly tribe of Levi. Today it is much loved in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia, where its short, ancient sound is back in fashion. Rich in religious meaning, it evokes bonding, belonging and family union.
