Origen y significado de Sebastiano

Sebastiano comes from the Greek Sebastós, 'venerable, worthy of honour' (the equivalent of the Latin Augustus), via the demonym of Sebaste, a city in Asia Minor. The name is inseparable from Saint Sebastian, the Roman martyr among the most depicted in art. In Italy it is traditional and well rooted, especially in Sicily; in the forms Sebastian, Sébastien and Sebastián it is much loved in Germany, France and the Hispanic world. It combines ancient solemnity, musicality and timeless appeal.
