Origen y significado de Oreste
Oreste comes from the Greek Oréstēs, from óros, 'mountain': it means 'one who dwells on the mountain, the highlander'. In Greek myth he is Agamemnon's son who avenges his father, the hero of famous tragedies by Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides. The name thus evokes wild strength and tragic destiny. Found almost only in Italy and, to a lesser extent, in Spanish-speaking areas, it is rare, with a classical, austere and captivating ring.
