Nazario comes from the Christian Latin Nazarius, 'native of Nazareth', the Galilean town linked to Jesus's youth. The name therefore carries a clear religious, devotional value. It spread through Saint Nazarius, a martyr venerated in Milan together with Saint Celsus.
