Origen y significado de Lino

Lino comes from the Greek Linos, a name belonging in myth to a singer, son of Apollo, the personification of song and lament; it is also linked to the Latin linum, 'flax, linen.' In Christian tradition it is the name of Saint Linus, held to be the second pope after Peter. Found in Italy, Spain and Portugal, it was made famous in the twentieth century by the actor Lino Ventura. Abroad it corresponds to Linus.
