Ignazio comes from the Latin Ignatius, traditionally traced to ignis, 'fire': it evokes someone ardent, passionate and full of zeal. The name owes its spread to two great saints, Ignatius of Antioch and Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits.
