Fabiana is the feminine form of the Roman family name Fabianus, from Fabius — the gens Fabia, whose name links to the Latin faba, 'bean', the crop that clan once grew. It therefore means 'belonging to the Fabii family'. Popular above all in Italy and across Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries, its elegant, classical ring has made it a favourite throughout Latin America too.
