Origen y significado de Eugenio

Eugenio comes from the Greek Eugénios, from eû, 'well', and génos, 'birth, stock': it means 'well-born, of noble descent'. Borne by popes and saints, it spread widely in the Christian world. In Italy it is an elegant, still-living classic; in the variants Eugène, Eugen and Eugene it is known throughout Europe and remains especially appreciated in Spanish-speaking countries too.
