Origen y significado de Brigida
Brigida comes from the Celtic Brighid, from the root brígh, 'strength, excellence, height': 'the exalted, the sublime.' It was the name of an ancient Celtic goddess, later inherited by much-venerated saints. It owes much of its fame to Saint Bridget of Sweden, patron of Europe. Found in Ireland as Brigid and Bríd, in Scandinavia as Birgitta and in Italy as Brigida, it unites strength and spirituality with a firm, ancient sound.
